I don't really have anything in mind to write about, and I hate doing these last-minute filler posts. I'm going to do my best to stick to daily posting through this month, but perhaps I should consider changing to a few times a week in September. What I don't like about making such a change is that I know it'll become too easy to skip days at a time because I'm too busy, or it's too late, or I don't have anything in mind, and then I'll just stop posting at all, again.

Actually, I now have three multi-day events going on in September, which may make it difficult to post every day, anyhow. First is Bumbershoot over Labor Day weekend; I don't know yet whether I'll be going all three days, but I did volunteer to help out KEXP all three days and it's possible they'll use me. It's a pretty high-demand weekend for volunteering, though, so it's fairly likely I won't be there every day. Second, my mom emailed me yesterday to tell me that she's coming out to visit for several days, over the second weekend in September. I can probably still find time in there to update the journal, since she'll be going to bed earlier than I do, but I don't know yet how busy I'll be and whether I'll also have work to do then. Third is Decibel Festival, which is the last weekend in September—actually five days this year, from Wednesday evening the 22nd through Sunday the 26th. I'm hoping to attend as a KEXP media correspondent again this year, which I believe will happen but hasn't yet been confirmed. If I do go, I'll probably be able to make some kind of post early each day, since the events are mostly in the evening.

The end of September is going to be a crazy music-fest for me. The day after Decibel Festival, School of Seven Bells are playing a show at Neumos, which I plan to attend. Freezepop are also in town that night, and obviously I can't be at both shows, but they're playing in Portland the following night at the Fez Ballroom. Although I'm concerned I may just be wiped out after the Decibel Festival weekend, I'm hoping to drive down to Portland for that show—it would be only the second time I've visited Portland since moving out here, and my first time seeing a show down there, so I'd really like to go. If I do, that'll mean a whole week of music shows, which is quite something even for me.

Okay, it's still kind of a filler post, but at least it's about something. I need to remember that sometimes I can just blather a bit about what I'm up to.
