Any opinions on Yo La Tengo in general, and their new album I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass in particular? It seems like every time I hear a Yo La Tengo song, in particular songs off the new album, I find myself thinking 'hey, this is good, who is this?' and then I check KEXP's playlist and think 'oh yeah, it's Yo La Tengo. Huh, I guess I should pick this up.'
They're playing The Showbox on Sunday October 15, I should probably go. But I've already got plans to see Ladytron (yes, again) with friends on Friday the 13th, also at the Showbox, and I'm not sure I want to go there twice in a weekend. It's on the expensive end for me, and I found my choices there are to put up with the huge crush of people at the stage, which gradually irritates me past enjoying the show, or to stay to the back where I can have breathing room and even get a good view of the stage but of course can't see as well due to distance.
